All Terrain Vehicles

Participants must be enrolled in the 4-H ATV project. There are three classes:

J-1 ATV DIVISION (Ages 9 to 13)
J-2 ATV DIVISION (Ages 14 & 15)
J-3 ATV DIVISION (Ages 16 and older)

All contestants must wear the minimum recommended safety equipment as follows:

1.) Helmet, with full face shield or goggles
2.) Long sleeve pullover type shirt (no button type shirts)
3.) Full finger gloves
4.) Long pants of sturdy material such as denim; ATV riding pants are ideal (absolutely no sweat pants)
5.) Over-the-ankle leather boots (no athletic shoes or rubber boots)

All contestants ages 9-15 will ride a Honda 90cc, Honda 200cc, or other 4-wheel ATV properly sized to the individual. All contestants age 16 (as of day of contest) and over will ride a Honda 200cc, or other 4-wheel ATV properly sized to the individual. All ATV's will be provided.

All riding competition will be in 1st or 2nd gear only. Each contestant will be given five minutes prior to the riding competition to become acquainted with the ATV.

The contest will include:

1.) Written Examination
2.) Parts Identification
3.) Interview
4.) ATV Skill Driving
