Contest: Electricity - 2007 Results and Pictures

1. A clock trophy winner in previous years is not eligible to participate in the same class in current year. Any previous members of the National Engineering Team are not eligible to compete in the same class again.
2. Within each division counties may have one participant per class with no individual participating in more than one class; except for class J-5. Participants may represent their county in multiple divisions.
3. Participants will have an interview based on the knowledge and skills associated with their project. They may also be asked to demonstrate, show, or explain any aspect of their project, poster, etc.
4. Participants are required to bring their project book showing involvement in and progress toward completion of their project goals.
5. Participants are responsible for supplying and monitoring any equipment and/or supplies needed to aid in the operation and/or completion of their project.
6. Participants will report to the registration table fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled interview period.
7. Awards will be presented at 4:30 PM in the Youth Discovery Center.

Classes:

J-1 MAGIC OF ELECTRICITY Bring your completed project manual along with a project exhibit which represents your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities, experiments or plans contained in your project manual.

J-2 INVESTIGATING ELECTRICITY Bring your completed project manual along with a project exhibit which represents your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities, experiments or plans contained in your project manual.

J-3 WIRED FOR POWER Bring your completed project manual along with a project exhibit which represents your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities, experiments or plans contained in your project manual.

J-4 ENTERING ELECTRONICS Bring your completed project manual along with a project exhibit which represents your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities, experiments or plans contained in your project manual.

J-5 ELECTRIC ENERGY QUALIFIER
- National 4-H Engineering, Science, & Leadership Event Contestants must be at least 14 as of January 1 and enrolled in a 4-H electricity or self-determined project. This class will include a written examination, identification of electrical symbols and equipment, and a 5 to 10 minute speech using visual aids on a technical subject related to electric/energy. Additional contest details are on the following pages. Registration for this class will begin by 9:45 AM in the Youth Discovery Center. The contest will run from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Because the 4-H’ers in this event may also be entered in classes J-1, J-2, J-3, or J-4, contestants are free to register for the 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM time slot to exhibit in the other classes.
