| Agricultural Tractor and Lawn Tractor are on August 10 at JD Equipment in London, Ohio. Contest: Lawn Tractor - 2007 Results and Pictures Date: Friday, August 8, 2008 Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Awards: 4:30 PM Location: JD Equipment in London, Ohio - Map 1. A clock trophy winner in previous years is not eligible to participate in the same class in the current year. Any previous senior trophy winners of the National Tractor Event are not eligible to participate again. 2. Each county may have three participants in each class according to the age specifications printed. 3. Participants must be enrolled or have interest in the Lawn Tractor program. 4. J-3 and J-4 will begin at 1:00 p.m. 5. The points-off system will be used with penalty points given for errors. The winner will have the lowest score. 6. The event will be judged outdoors. In case of severe weather conditions, the contest will proceed at the discretion of the superintendent. 7. Awards will be presented at the end of the contests. Classes: J-3 Lawn Tractor – Junior Division Contestants must be age 12 or 13 as of January 1 and enrolled in a 4-H lawn care, small engines or self-determined project. This class is designed to give 4-H members an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the area of lawn care, business management, and lawn tractor (less that 20 hp) operation while competing with other 4-H’ers. Safety will be stressed through out the contest. The event will include the following: Written examination (20 minutes) Lawn Mower Parts and Lawn Item Identification (10 minutes) Lawn Tractor Driving event (8 minutes) J-4 Lawn Tractor – Senior Division Lawn Tractor National Qualifier, contestant must be at least 14 years old as of January 1. The 4-H member must be enrolled in a 4-H lawn care, small engines or self-determined project. This class is designed to give 4-H members an opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in the area of lawn care, business management, and lawn tractor (less that 20 hp) operation while competing with other 4-H’ers. Safety will be stressed through out the contest. This is a National Qualifying Event. The winner will earn a place on the Ohio 4-H Engineering team. They will receive an expense paid trip to compete at the National 4-H Engineering, Science, & Leadership Event at Purdue University, in September.
