Telecommuting Guidelines for OSU Extension Professionals

The role of Ohio State University Extension professionals requires that they set their individual schedules, determine their annual objectives, and work in an independent manner.  OSU Extension professionals have a designated worksite and are personally accountable for time management and meeting performance objectives.

It is the expectation that OSU Extension employees be accessible to their clientele and colleagues.  Therefore, establishing days to work away from the worksite on a regular and/or continuing arrangement is unacceptable. OSU Extension supports occasional work away from the worksite when a specific need or project requires total focus.  Issues of scheduling, office coverage, worksite location and staff supervision (if applicable) will be approved by the immediate supervisor.
