Computers

The College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has two computer sites available for student use. One of the two labs is open until 11:00pm on school nights, while the other is typically open until 9:00pm. To find about more about Student Computer Centers go here: http://sccweb.it.ohio-state.edu/.

While the university has several public computing sites for students to use, nothing beats the convenience of having a computer at your disposal, day or night. An added incentive to bringing a computer to Ohio State is the presence of ResNet in every campus residence hall room. ResNet is a high speed fiber-optic connection to Ohio State's computer network and the Internet that allows connection speeds that far exceed the performance of any modem. Any student living in the residence halls can connect to ResNet at no additional cost. Each room is wired with one ResNet port per resident. To use ResNet, you will need at least a Pentium class PC (running Windows 95/98 or later) or a Power PC Macintosh (running MacOS 7.5.5 or later).
