Student Reactions:
"The World Food Prize Youth Institute was an incredible opportunity to learn about the critical issues facing the world today. In my opinion, the interactions I was able to have with the leaders of today - governmental, private business sector, and in academia - are unprecedented for any youth symposium. The adults were excited and eager to discuss current problems and their solutions with me during many of the dinners and social events. I have alread begun to utilize the contacts I established and hope to use this experience as a stepping stone toward joining the innovative people I met at The World Food Prize in the battle against world hunger and poverty."

OSU Faculty Reactions:
"The great thing about the Global Youth Institute is that the students are not segregated from the experts. They mingle, learn and share their thoughts and ideas with everyone" "I am immensely thankful to be active in this event. It gave me the opportunity to work with talented students and to discuss my work with other professionals. It allows me to become considered part of the pool of professional experts internationally." Dr. Hugo Melgar-Quinonez worked with the students on the Ohio State campus as they competed to be chosen for the institute, accompanied them to the institute and worked with a small group, and provided professional development for the teachers.
