A. Situational Statement:
|
The ban of yard waste from landfills creates a
challenge for communities. Grass clippings are
historically the largest volume of material being
landfilled in May/June.
|

B. Description/Educational Objectives:
|
- Communicate the value of returning grass
clippings to the lawn
- Increase the commitment of individuals to
promote good lawn care
- Encourage residents to compost organic
materials in their backyards
- Provide clients with resources for
implementing backyard composting systems.

of Year:

2-3 months (longer for demonstration); March -
April, September - October
|

Homeowners, local officials; lawn care
companies; County; multi-county via solid waste
districts
