The ban of yard waste from landfills creates a
challenge for many communities. Turning the
responsibility back to homeowners is a part of the
educational effort in backyard composting.

Understand the position of organic wastes in
solid waste
Comprehend the basic science of biological
degradation
Observe simple holding bin approach to
composting
Discover (bust) the myths surrounding
composting
