I. Title of Program or Issue: Environmental Health and Travel

A. Situational Statement: When people travel, they are often susceptible to germs, pollens, and other pollutants that can affect their health that are different from, or more concentrated than in the home or usual workplace. Many myths abound regarding improving one's immediate environment while traveling. This program is designed to help individuals discover actions that will help make travel less "worrisome" and ensure good health.

B. Description/Educational Objectives:

  • Understand the nature of environmental health related to travel factors.
  • Discuss myths/beliefs about healthful travel and the environment
  • Discover the best current information about healthful travel.

C. Suggested Time Required for Program; Time of Year:
1 - 3 hours

D. Audience and Level of Offering: Individuals; Groups; Travel associations/travel groups

E. Teaching Methods, Resources, Costs: Teaching resource guide available. Wallet sized Travel "Tips" - two sheets.
