I. Title of Program or Issue
Organizing for Economic Development

A. Situational Statement: 
Rural communities find it necessary to establish a community and economic development program in order to compete in today's market place.  Since this is a new activity for a community, it is helpful to look at other models before creating a local office.

B. Description/Educational Objectives:
Assist a community in discovering the necessary activities and organizational structure for a Community Economic Development Office.  Assist in looking at a potential methods of funding, plus discovering which organizations should participate in the program. 

C. Suggested Time Required for Program: 1 Hour

Suggested Time of Year: Any time of the year. 

D. Audience and Level of Offering: Community Leaders

E. Teaching Methods, Resources, Costs: Presentation with group discussion.  Use of overheads. 
Cost: Travel expenses
