4-H
at the County Fair
Fun, learning, and achievement at the County Fair have
been part of 4-H in Ohio since 1905. Each year, the Cuyahoga County
Fair takes place in Berea and Middleburg Heights four weeks before
Labor Day. This year's Fair Dates are: Monday, August 7th through
Sunday, August 13th. Our Fairgrounds is so big, that parts of the
117 acre facility are in two cities! In fact, the Berea-Middleburg
Heights city limits zig-zags back and forth through the Junior Fair
Building!

4-H learning activities at the Fair take place mainly as part of the Junior
Fair, and are open to all youth in Cuyahoga County ages 5 through 18. As a
young person, you can take part in various ways:
You can visit the Fair and learn what you can do in 4-H by viewing the
various educational exhibits in the Junior Fair Building and the 4-H Animal
Science area in the Cow Palace.
As a member of 4-H, you can put a poster, collection, or
some other item about what you
learned in your 4-H project this year on display in the Junior Fair
Building. If you worked with a pet or a livestock animal in 4-H this
year, you can put your animal on display in the Cow Palace
Exhibits put on display qualify for various types of ribbons and premiums.
You can earn extra recognition and ribbons by talking with
a judge about what you learned doing your 4-H project activities.
We love "live action" at the Fair! You and your friends can put
together a short "Project Showcase" or "Speaking Skills Demonstration" to
share what you have learned with other youth and adults coming to the Fair.
