Building Effective Teams
Leadership
Building and maintaining an effective work team demands an understanding
and appreciation of individual differences, the general needs of team members,
and the dynamics of the group process. It also requires an awareness of
organizational reality, the goals of the team, and the goals and roles of
individual team members.
This one-day overview is designed not only to create this level of awareness,
but to go well beyond. Specific skills for effectively structuring, developing,
and leading a team are explored. Predictable issues in team development
are explored, and strategies for dealing effectively with the most likely
issues are explored. Specific leadership roles and responsibilities are
considered, the impact of different types of communication behaviors in
team settings are explored, and typical dysfunctional team member behaviors
are identified along with alternatives for dealing with such disruptions
successfully. Contact Jack
