Offering CEU's for Registered Sanitarians

A number of Extension programs are targeted to registered sanitarians. In the past, each program coordinator applied and paid a $50 fee to be able to offer Continuing Education units to sanitarians. To facilitate this process, an application was submitted and approved for OSU Extension to be a provider organization by the State Board of Sanitarian Registration. What this means is that individual county, district or state programs still must be submitted to the State Board of Sanitarian Registration for CEU's to be approved and assigned, but there is no fee to do so. Some OSU Extension programs that have provided CEU's to this audience in the past include: West Nile Virus, ServSafe, Water Quality, and other environmental health programs. Susan Crusey, OSU Extension, Logan County was the first to apply for and be approved for CEU's for a ServSafe Program under the new procedure.

What do you need to do to apply for CEU's for registered sanitarians?

  1. Obtain Form CE-4 from the State Board of Sanitarian Registration website at: http://www.state.oh.us/san/
  2. Submit 2 copies of the form and supporting documentation at least days prior to the anticipated date of the course or program.
  3. Specific questions may be directed to Lynn Jones at the State Board of Sanitarian Registration, 614-466-1772.
