Agricultural and Extension Education

Graduate Program

Students in the AEE graduate program who specialize in Agricultural Communication (M.S.), Agricultural Education (M.S., M.Ed., Ph.D.) or Extension Education (M.S., M.Ed., Ph.D.) earn degrees in Human and Community Resource Development.

Agricultural Education in the Public Schools is one of the specialization areas in the Department's graduate degree in Human and Community Resource Development. This specialization provides greater depth in teaching and learning, program development, and curriculum development at the Masters level, strengthening the pedagogical foundation as agriculture teachers. The doctoral program prepares students in the fundamental aspects of agricultural education, preparing them to teach undergraduate courses in teacher education and beginning graduate courses.

Extension Education is another specialization area in the Department's graduate degree in Human and Community Resource Development. M.S. (Thesis), M.Ed. (Non-thesis), and Ph.D. programs are offered with an Extension Education specialization. This specialization provides a strong foundation for current and future Extension educators in Extension program development and management, non-formal youth development, leadership and administration. Many graduates of the program now serve in Extension administration and leadership roles nationally and internationally.

The Agricultural Communication program offers a master's degree option in Agricultural Communication. More information can be found at Agricultural Communication Graduate Program.
