Ideas. Rejuvenation. New contacts. Confirmation that Ohio faces management education challenges similar to those of other states. Celebration of your ManagementExcel successes. Information about management education programs across the country. These are some of the benefits the National Conference will provide Ohio ManagementExcel teachers. The Conference will substitute for module III of the annual ManagementExcel In-service, aimed at experienced teachers. Starting in 1993, the Ohio in-services have provided experienced teachers the opportunity to interact, sharpen teaching skills, develop curricula and address challenges faced by their individual teams. The National Conference will provide the same opportunities on a national scale. Here is our opportunity to think far beyond what we are doing in Ohio. The National Conference program features 19 workshop presenters. They are experienced management educators who will share their successes with a particular subject matter topic, management educational program or teaching method. The informal nature of these workshops will encourage discussion. Informal interaction among those attending the conference will likely bring as much lasting value as the keynote addresses and workshops. We have invited each state with a ManagementExcel type program to bring an exhibit. These state exhibits should help stimulate informal discussion about curricula, materials, enrollment, publicity techniques, follow up programs for graduates, in-services and teacher training. This conference grew out of the 1995 Rochester Conference attended by more than 100 people. The enthusiastic responses to that conference caused the conference steering committee to plan a follow up. We volunteered to host the second conference so that a large number of Ohio people could benefit without having to travel out-of-state. Hope to see you there! |
