Camp Whitewood
Arts/Crafts Instructor
Job
Description
I. Qualifications
- Must be at least
18 years old.
- Must possess
experience in a variety
of arts and crafts.
- Should be
experienced in teaching
and working with young people for extended periods of time.
II. Responsibilities
- Directly
responsible to the Program
Director/Coordinator.
- Must meet with
the Program Director/
Coordinator prior to camping season to become familiar with crafts
being
offered and to begin preparing lesson plans.
- Should take
initiative to share
creative ideas with the Program Director/Coordinator.
- Prepare short
directions on each
craft to use as reference for teaching by staff and counselors.
- Have a variety
of completed samples
of each craft made up on display at the beginning of each camp.
- Be at Lodge 15
minutes or more
(as needed) before craft instruction periods to have tools, supplies
and
work area ready for activities.
- Responsible for
keeping daily inventories of all crafts supplies, equipment, and need
for supplies or equipment.
- Maintain crafts
store, crafts hall,
all crafts tools and supplies in a clean and orderly working
condition.
- These statements
on duties are
not to be taken as the final and only work to be done by staff members.
Frequently it is necessary for individual staff members to cooperate on
a project, which
is important for the continued smooth operation of the camp. Such
duties
will be under the direction of the Camp Executive Director.
III. All Staff and Directors
- Set an example
by conducting themselves in a proper manner.
- Observe a habit
of cleanliness
of self and quarters.
- Be present
promptly at meal times.
- Participate in
camp activities
when possible.
- There shall be
no alcoholic beverages on Camp Whitewood grounds at anytime.
- Staff Certified
in C.P. R. may
have to administer resuscitation by means of a mechanical airway.
- Complete a
written evaluation and
final inventory at the end of camping season.
