Kitchen Assistant
Job Description

I. Qualifications

  1. Must be at least 18 years old.
  2. Must be willing to follow directions.
  3. Must observe a habit of personal cleanliness. This includes wearing a hair net and hair tied back.
  4. Must be willing to work irregular hours according to the needs of the food service operation.
II. Responsibilities
  1. Is directly responsible to the camp Food Service Director.
  2. Must wear a hair net whenever on the job.
  3. Follow instructions and take initiative to assist with preparation and clean-up of kitchen, equipment, and utensils.
  4. Be prompt.
  5. Share responsibilities for cook-outs and picnic.
  6. No smoking in the kitchen.
  7. Set an example by conducting self in a proper manner.
  8. Assist in any way as assigned by the Food Service Director.
  9. Responsible for assisting win food preparation with one having a major duty in dish machine operation and clean-up of the area.
  10. These statements on duties are not to be taken as the final and only work to be done by staff members. Frequently it is necessary for individual staff members to cooperate on a project, which is, important for the continued smooth operation of  the camp. Such duties will be under the direction of the Camp Executive Director.
III. All Staff and Directors
  1. Set an example by conducting themselves in a proper manner.
  2. Observe a habit of cleanliness of self and quarters.
  3. Be present promptly at meal times.
  4. Participate in camp activities when possible.
  5. There shall be no alcoholic beverages on Camp Whitewood grounds at anytime.
  6. Staff Certified in C.P. R. may have to administer resuscitation by means of a mechanical airway.
  7. Complete a written evaluation and final inventory at the end of camping season.
