Contest: Small Engines - 2009 Results and Pictures

Youth Discovery Center at the Ohio Expo Center

1. A clock trophy winner from previous years is not eligible to participate in the same class in the current year. Any previous member of the National 4-H Engineering team is not eligible to compete in the same class again.
2. Within each division, counties may have one participant in each class. No individual is permitted to participate in more than one class in the same division; except for class J-4.
3. Participants in classes J-1, 2, and 3 will have a personal interview.
4. Participants in classes J-4 will follow the
evaluation methods described for that class.
5. Participants will report to the registration table fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled judging session, as printed on the registration card. Note: Class J-4 is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. regardless of county judging schedule.

Classes:

J-1 Crank It Up
Bring your completed project manual along with an exhibit representing your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities contained in your project manual.

J-2 Warm It Up
Bring your completed project manual along with an exhibit representing your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities contained in your project manual.

J-3 Tune It Up
Bring your completed project manual along with an exhibit representing your level of understanding and ability within the project. The project exhibit must be derived from one of the activities contained in your project manual.

J-4 Small Engines National Qualifier - For more on this contest click here

Registration for this contest will begin at 9:45 AM
; the contest will run from
10:00 AM. - 12:00 PM. Because the contestants in this event may also be entered in classes J-1, J-2 or J-3, they are free to register for the 9:00 AM, 1:00 PM or 2:00 AM time slots for the other classes.

The J-4 Class is a National Qualifying Event. The winner will earn a place on the Ohio 4-H Engineering team. They will receive an expense paid trip to compete at the National 4-H Engineering Challenge at Purdue University.
