 Homemakers Picnic

Monday, August 7, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. at

Cahn Grove Park, Cleveland Ave.

(Located next to the Lyn Way Restaurant.)

This picnic is open to any member of the Ashland County Homemakers Clubs, their guests, and anyone who might be interested in joining one of the five clubs in the county. Please bring a covered dish to share and your own table service.  Beverages will be provided. 

In the case of bad weather, the event will be held in the downstairs meeting room of the Agriculture & Family Center, 804 US Hwy 250 East (directly across from the Highway Patrol Post). 

 

 Homemakers Day at the Ashland County Fair

Homemaking Then and Now” will be the theme for this year’s eventPrograms and demonstrations include:  Growing and Cooking with Herbs, Water Gardens in Your Landscape, Ways to Avoid Identity Theft, Organizing your Photos, The Art of Quilting, Tea Bag Folding, Flower arranging, a cooking demo by the Ashland County-West Holmes Culinary Students and much more.

 

Programs will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Entertainment Tent and in the Arts & Crafts building and run until 4:30 p.m. Admission to the fair will be reduced  by $1.00 for all homemakers who attend that day from 9 – 6. A complete program will be listed in the next Homespun News and in the Times Gazette Fair tabloid. 

  

 

Who Gets Grandma’s Yellow Pie Plate? ™

 We have had a request to offer this popular workshop in the evening so people who work away from home can attend.  The next class will be:

Wednesday, August 23, 2006, 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.

in the Agriculture & Family Center, downstairs meeting room.

Deadline to register is Friday, August 18.  Cost is $12.00 per person or

$18.00 per family.  (See enclosed flyer for complete details and a registration form.)
