5th Annual Youth Safety Day Roundup
130 youth - 20 teachers - Dairy Industry and Safety Education


12 New Master Gardeners Trained
Two major projects for Master Gardeners this year:

1) Provide educational materials at the 2 county farm markets 

2) Landscape beautification at the Barnesville Depot Station

32 master gardeners in Belmont and Monroe Counties

500 hours of volunteer service

1,000 individual contacts


New Scenic Byway in Belmont County - Drover’s Trail Extension helpful in the process of obtaining this status for:

39 miles of St. Rte 147 and St. Route 800.
Brochure available.


Timber Marketing and Taxation Workshop

50 participants.

Pesticide Training Program

28 certified or recertified.


Family & Consumer Sciences

 
Dining with Diabetes Program for Clientele

6 years of programming, 46 participants.

Learn about diabetes and the effects nutrition and
food selection have on health.


Dining with Diabetes - Train-the-Trainer for Educators

60 counties now using the Dining w/ Diabetes Curriculum.


Helping Children Cope with Divorce
Multimedia parenting program for helping children through the divorce and post-divorce process reached 203 adults.

Family Nutrition Program

Basic nutrition and food-safety skills for the foodstamp-
eligible audience reached 1,886 participants.

90% report learning new knowledge they intend to adopt.

2,400 monthly newsletters distributed.


OSU James Cancer Center Mobile Mammogram

Thirty women received mammograms in mobile unit.
Returning spring and fall 2005.

Physical exam and pap tests also provided.

Health and Wellness Training

200 participants received nutrition, food safety, sanitation
or stress management lessons.


4-H Youth Development 
CARTEENS

Teen volunteers bring safe driver education to juvenile traffic offenders, reaching 206 young drivers and their parents.

Incredible Egg Program

250 youth from 13 third-grade classrooms learned the responsibility of caring for eggs and hatching chicks.


4-H Junior Camp

108 youth aged 9 to 13 were given an outdoor education opportunity.

51 teens served as 4-H Camp Counselors.

Cloverbuds Day Camp

20 participants, 5 to 8 year olds participated in a series of activities that focused on a water education theme.

After-School 4-H with Big Brothers and Big Sisters
20 middle school-aged youth and three volunteers participate.


Adult 4-H Volunteer Committees

Members worked to provide a variety of learning experiences and opportunities to the 4-H members, including:

4-H Rabbit Committee sponsored Rabbit Workshop

Horse and Livestock Committees provided Workshop and Quality Assurance programs.

The Buckeye Connection.
