Roads Scholars Tour
September 13-14, 2005

On this annual two-day tour of Ohio, Ohio State  faculty and staff have an opportunity to see how their colleagues are engaged in making a difference in the lives of Ohioans.  On the tour, Roads Scholars learn about the natural resources of the state, its people, communities and businesses.

The Roads Scholars Tour visits approximately one-fourth of the state in two days.  During the tour, Roads Scholars visit a regional campus, an OSU Extension office, a local high school, businesses, medical partners, arts centers, a farm, and much more.  They visit with community leaders, business leaders, educators, high school students, current Ohio State students and alumni.  Roads Scholars see how their colleagues are engaging their research, teaching and service with local communities. They hear from local citizens about their work, concerns and interests.  The tour is designed for Ohio State's newly hired faculty, newly tenured faculty, individuals in senior leadership positions and individuals giving lead to outreach and engagement initiatives.

This year's tour, hosted by Bob Moser, vice president, University Outreach, will feature just a few of the many partnerships between Ohio State faculty and communities and businesses in north central and northern Ohio.
