The Power of Air Air may exist but how can air, which is so light, support a huge airplane? The Wright brothers became interested in the properties of air when they were little boys. Their father gave them a little helicopter invented by a French scientist. The toy actually flew. As the boys played with it, they wondered how objects with wings, such as birds, could fly.
