If you have a project idea you want to develop, bring it along.  You will have an opportunity to get started.  We will work with your ideas; think about ways to test the marketability of your idea, explore ways to expand your program out of the routine and into cost recovery, think about new audiences that might want or need your programs, consider potential community sponsors, begin to develop preliminary budgets.

Watch for more workshops here and on your All-Extension listserv.

Workshop: Negotiating Cost Recovery: Hands-on Practice

At this workshop we will practice ways to work with customers. Several seasoned and experienced agents will be there to “star” in the sketches, coach and offer suggestions.  We will:

  • Learn to present a price, keep the door open, and negotiate a cost recovery outcome.
  • Share examples of letters of offer and will role-play some typical situations
  • Be coached and coach others and actually practice negotiating with a few of our typical and not-so-typical customers.
  • Keep an emphasis on the importance of building and keeping relationships, and talking through the situation.
There will be time to present situations you expect to encounter as you expand your cost recovery efforts. We will work on developing “reasons people should say “yes” to us.

Watch for workshop dates and locations
to be posted soon.

Find Funding -- Set up a Funding Alert
A Funding Alert is a service provided by the Community of Science to employees of subscribing organizations such as Ohio State University.

A funding alert is a weekly email notice that alerts you to new funding opportunities that are relevant to the type of project you want funded.

You start this process by completing a form that asks you to list some words that describe your project.

You can register yourself and set up a funding alert on your own by clicking here

COS

and then clicking JOIN.

If it doesn't make sense to you or you'd like some help, send me an e-mail Jackie LaMuth  or call and we'll set up a time.

It only takes  30 minutes or so. We can do this over the phone.
