Ph.D. Advising Guide: The Ph.D. indicates that a person earning the degree is a scholar and has the competence to make substantive contributions to knowledge in the field. Candidates for the Ph.D. are expected to complete the following courses in the Department of Agricultural Education and courses in statistics and/or qualitative research offered by other departments. Students are encouraged to enroll in additional courses outside the department to develop competence in areas of research beyond the basic requirements of the core courses. Students who have completed the required core courses, or equivalent courses at OSU or at another university, are encouraged to complete more advanced research courses. Students seeking the Ph.D. Degree would need to complete all requirements for the Master's Degree as part of the Ph.D. program if they did not complete them or an equivalent course as part of their Master's degree.
