The Master of Science degree indicates that a person earning the degree has gained additional knowledge and necessary skills in the field in order to engage in research and other scholarly activities, to teach, and to become practitioners. Candidates are expected to have a broad knowledge of agricultural education and specific expertise in an emphasis area.

- AGR EDUC 631 or JOUR 571 will be required as a foundation course for conditional admission of students lacking either an education or communication undergraduate background.
- Students without course work or experience in the international arena are encouraged to include a global/international dimension (course, seminar, or experience) in their program.
