Undergraduate Program The teaching in the public schools option allows students to pursue teacher certification in production agriculture and horticulture. Agriscience and agribusiness certification is available in conjunction with the other certificate areas. Agricultural Education majors with specialization in teaching in the public schools have many career options, including high school teacher of agriculture, farm business planning and analysis instructor, adult education instructor, agricultural organization personnel trainer, farm manager, sales consultant, sales representative, or public relations specialist. Extension Education at the undergraduate level is included in the Agricultural Education major for the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. The other two areas included in the undergraduate Agricultural Education major include Teacher Education and Agribusiness. The undergraduate major provides a strong foundation for future Extension educators in teaching and learning, educational program development and management, adult education, and leadership. The agribusiness education and training emphasis is designed for students who want to combine their agricultural knowledge and teaching ability in business, industry, and agricultural organizations. Personnel training and management are among the positions available to students in this emphasis area.
