Area of Research
Primary research focus pertains to youth development in an ecological perspective: specific areas encompass effective developmentally-appropriate programming for children; social and psychological factors contributing to life-span transitions; and problems issues of substance use, depression, and community decline.

- Active in four professional associations: National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA), National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA)
