If you are the timekeeper in your office and enter timesheets on the Extension HR timekeeping website, please note that you have a day or two to make changes to what you have already entered. Making changes does not necessarily require the assistance of someone in Extension Payroll. For instance, if you enter timesheets on a Thursday or Friday, you actually have until Saturday 8:00 pm of that same week to make as many changes as are necessary. However the hours appear on Saturday night (when the timekeeping website closes) is the only time that hours are actually submitted to Payroll.

Several Women and Money conferences will be held this summer at various locations throughout Ohio. These day-long financial seminars for women provide sessions on budgeting, home ownership, identity theft, investments, kids and money, etc. Extension educators from around the state will be featured as breakout session presenters. There will also be multiple displays and exhibits to visit, but the best part of these conferences is that they are free and include a continental breakfast and lunch. To register for one of these conferences, please go to http://www.ohiowomenandmoney.org/ and click on the women and money icon on the right side of the page.

1. Set up a PatientLink Account
Go to www.yourplanforhealth.com. Click on "Assessing Your Health Risks" and follow the steps provided.
2. Know Your Health Numbers
Personal Health Assessment (PHA) screenings provide important biometric health data (cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, etc). Remember to fast for 12 hours prior to your screening for the most accurate results. If you cannot go to an on-campus location for your screening, you can use the data obtained from your physician during the past 12 months. This information is necessary to complete the PHA.
3. Take the Personal Health Assessment (PHA)
Take the online questionnaire to determine the current status of your health and well-being. You will receive incentive points for annually completing this. Your PHA data becomes part of your electronic medical record at The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) and is protected in the same manner as any record created at OSUMC. Even employees of OSU Human Resources do not have access to your PHA data. To take the PHA, go to: http://www.osumhcs.org/hra/register/
4. Talk to Your Physician
The PHA results are a powerful addition to the preventive health care exams you already get from your physician. They provide a more complete picture of your health condition, and can help you and your physician set and achieve health goals for yourself.

Beginning August 2007, staff who contribute to the Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) will see a reduction in the employer contribution to their ARP account. Under Ohio law, the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) may withhold a portion of the employer's contribution in order to offset any negative financial impact OPERS may experience by offering alternative plan options, such as the ARP.
Ohio State University's contribution to staff retirement will remain at 13.77%, but starting in August 2007, 13.23% of that amount will be contributed to participants' ARP accounts, and 0.54% wil be sent to OPERS. Bi-weekly paid employees will see this change on their August 17 paycheck, and monthly paid employees will see the change on their August 31 paycheck.
Questions regarding this contribution change should be directed to OPERS at 1-888-400-0965. You may also read about this change on their website by visiting www.opers.org.

The Office of Human Resources and the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) are partnering again this month to offer an on-campus forum to help eligible staff with their decisions regarding the retirement choices available with OPERS.
Thursday, June 21, 2007
12:00 noon - 1:00 pm
M100 Starling Loving Hall
320 W 10th Ave
This forum is designed for staff who have been at the university for less than 180 days (hire date of January 1, 2007 and after). At the forum, OPERS representatives will review, compare, and summarize the three retirement plan options.
