The program to strengthen higher agricultural
education and research in the Dominican Republic continued through
this year. This program is financed by the Dominican Government
which provided fellowships to three students who completed graduate
degrees as at OSU

A
fourth student continued his PhD studied in Food Science and
Technology. Danis-Feliz-Perez expects to obtain his PhD degree in
2007 after which he will return to University ISA in Santiago,
Dominican Republic. Under this program, CFAES continued to provide
support for three on-going M.S. degree programs in the Dominican
Republic, namely, Soils at the Autonomous University of Santo
Domingo, Biotechnology at the Superior Institute of Agriculture
(ISA) in Santiago, and Ecology at the National University “Pedro
Henriquez Urena” in Santo Domingo.
