Position:Quality Assurance Supervisor Location:Massillon, OH Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS) from four-year from college or university – prefer Food Science or Microbiology degree; or experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience related to Food Science, Microbiology, Mathematics, Chemistry, Management, and Industrial practices
Three to five years’ Quality Assurance and Sanitation experience/knowledge
Must understand USDA/FSIS/FDA and OSHA requirements
Must have good computer skills
Description:
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is a key element and an essential position for the factory and the Corporation. The Quality Assurance Supervisor helps the facilitation, implementation and maintenance of all Factory and Corporate Quality, Food Safety, Safety and USDA/FSIS & FDA Regulatory programs and initiatives
General Position Summary:
- Primary work shift is second (Must be flexible to work multiple shifts – first, third and weekends)
- Supervision of Quality Technicians / Auditors
- Company Liaison for USDA/FSIS & FDA
- HACCP Coordination / Oversight
- Perform pre-shipment requirements/review
- Plant Audits
- Quality Audits
- GMPs
- Facility & Structure
- Sanitation
- Glass & Brittle Plastic
- Housekeeping
- Pest Control
- Quality Assessments – Frozen Entrées, Meals and Sauces
- Net Weight Program Maintenance
- Provide guidance to Microbiology Laboratory
- Verify and validate process controls for sauces, frozen entrées & RTE products
- Allergen Program Coordination, Implementation and Auditing
- Raw material and packaging material receipt inspection and auditing
- Continuous Improvement participation – working with other departments on continuous improvement of quality, yields and efficiencies
- Employee and Personal Safety Coordination
Essential Job Functions:
- GMP & HACCP training for all factory employees
- Develop and train Quality Auditors
- Assure that formulas and process specification sheets are utilized as required
- Develop and monitor finished product evaluations as determined by customers both internal and external
- Keep check on process controls that affect product consistencies, quality and economic losses
- Ensure food safety by assuring adherence to factory GMPs, Hygiene and RTE programs and policies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Self motivated and works will without close supervision
- Must possess the ability to direct personnel and discipline fairly and consistently
- Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of management (Verbal and Written)
- Must maintain familiarity with new or revised USDA/FSIS & FDA regulations to ensure compliance (i.e. Labeling Regulations, Sanitation and Processing Procedures)
- Must be able to make decisions based on facts, regulations and policies
