Position: Raw Production Supervisor

Objective:

To directly supervise production activities in the raw processing department. To insure that proper and efficient utilization of equipment and materials, while striving to achieve department goals and strategies of the Cooper Business Plan

Major Responsibilities:

  • Train and supervise all departmental team members
  • Initiate appropriate steps to prevent workplace injuries and accidents
  • Achieve departmental production goals related to efficiency, quantity and yields
  • Interpret product specifications/job orders to team members and assign duties
  • Establish and/or adjust work procedures to support the Cooper Business Plan
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and overall quality of products
  • Initiate and suggest plans to motivate team members to achieve departmental production goals
  • Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers and terminations
  • Maintain a good attitude towards managers and team members
  • Maintain a good attendance record and report to work on time
  • Perform related duties as assigned or apparent by manager

Requirements:

  • College degree in animal science, food science or related field
  • Experience will be accepted in lieu of college degree
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to speak effectively before groups of people
  • Strong math and reasoning skills
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
