December 18, 2001 - Glory Foods introduces new chicken, beef products and new package design

by Bryan Salvage

Columbus, Ohio-based Glory Foods Inc. has introduced several new products and updated its packaging design to reflect what it calls a more visually appealing display of its products.

New additions to Glory Foods Southern Selections family-size frozen meals include:

Smothered chicken with rice - tender, breaded chicken patties over seasoned long grain rice, smothered in creamy gravy.

Beef stew with biscuits - tender chunks of beef and vegetables smothered in gravy and topped with flaky golden biscuits.

Mardi Gras chicken & rice - prepared in a Cajun-style sauce of tomatoes, okra, celery, onions, peppers and brown roux served with rice.

Chicken fricassee with biscuits - chicken chunks smothered in a creamy chicken and vegetable gravy topped with flaky golden biscuits, and corn bread dressing with chicken.

The company has also changed its packaging design. Yellow and red sunrays illuminating the company's name in deep purple lettering have replaced the vibrant sunrise nestled behind lush green hills.

“The look connects instantly with the consumer,” said Bill Williams, president of Glory Foods. “The name recognition forms an instant bond, and consumers tested expressed that the bright colors in the logo and the use of sunrays communicate a warm, appetizing feeling of home.”
