March 12, 1998 - CME Sponsors Free Seminars on Controlling Procurement Costs by Bryan Salvage The Chicago Mercantile Exchange is sponsoring a series of free, one-day seminars for industry personnel who would like to better control raw material costs and manage price risk. "Take Control of Your Food Costs" sessions are designed for a wide range of people, including buyers of boneless beef, boneless beef trimmings, pork and dairy products, meat and dairy ingredient suppliers, as well as grinders and other processors. Participants will learn from CME professionals the basics of futures and options, gain a solid understanding of how hedging works and learn popular hedging strategies, according to CME. The workshop will provide hands-on experience in the hedging process. All seminars are being offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The following is a list of seminar dates and locations: April 28, Peabody Orlando, Orlando, Fla.; April 30, Park Hyatt Philadelphia, Philadelphia; May 12, Minneapolis Marriott City Center, Minneapolis; May 14, Crowne Plaza, Kansas City, Mo.; May 19, CME Auditorium, Chicago; and May 21, Adam's Mark Columbus, Columbus, Ohio.
