White Castle Promoting Food-Safety Education Month

For White Castle customers, food safety is in the bag.

September is National Food Safety Education Month, and Columbus,

Ohio-based White Castle is supporting the efforts of a key sponsor, the

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation's International

Food Safety Council, by distributing food-safety tips via paper carryout

bags in all its restaurants this month.

A series of true or false questions on the blue-and-white-decorated

sacks challenge consumers on critical food-handling issues. The

sacks also encourage consumers to sing "Happy Birthday" twice while

washing hands with soap and hot water to maintain good food-handling

habits, according to a news release.

The theme of the sixth annual National Food Safety Education Month

is, "Be Smart. Keep Foods Apart. Don't Cross-Contaminate."

Okay, it’s not “Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires,” but for more

    information, log onto FoodSafetyCouncil.com.
