U.S. News and World Report: Ag Engineering Department One of Best in Nation Writer: Candace Pollock COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State University's Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences has been ranked in the top 10 as one of the best undergraduate agricultural engineering programs in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report. In the publication's "America's Best Colleges 2009," the department was ranked 8th, and remains Ohio State University's top-ranked engineering department. "As an engineering department it is humbling for us to be considered one of the top ten in the country. It is an indicator that we are doing the right things to educate new professionals in our field," said Tom Bean, chair of the Department of Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering. "Our ranking is a badge of honor for all of the support and confidence the college has in our program. It also reflects well on our other two majors in our department, Constructions Systems Management and Agricultural Systems Management." Added Bobby Moser, dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, "We are very proud of the ranking, but not surprised. The department's outstanding faculty and staff, and their work inside and outside of the classroom, have long had a strong impact on issues of importance to Ohio."
