OSU Extension to Offer Horse Management Workshop Source: Latham Farley, OSU Extension OWENSVILLE, Ohio – Pasture management, water quality and animal health are just a few of the many aspects of horse ownership. Ohio State University Extension will offer a workshop on Aug. 13 to provide new and experienced horse owners information on management strategies and networking opportunities. The Horse and Pasture Management School will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the 4-H Hall Ag Center, Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville, Ohio. Registration is $10 and includes light refreshments. The workshop is sponsored by OSU Extension, Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Clermont County Farm Bureau. Topics that will be covered during the event include: • Being a Good Neighbor – Maintaining Water Quality, Lori Hillman, NRCS • Fence Law Updates, Latham Farley, OSU Extension, Agriculture and Natural Resources • VET TALK, Kelly Liming, D.V.M. • Small Acreage Pasture Establishment and Renovation, Bob Hendershot, NRCS • Ask the Expert panel of presenters The workshop will also include exhibits by Hamilton Soil and Water Conservation District, Cahall Brothers, Inc., Carney’s Feed Mill, Bethel Feed & Supply, Spectrum Analytic, Inc., and U.S. Fabrics.
