Ohio 4-H Ambassador*** Wendy's International, Inc.

Ohio 4-H Foundation
Teens become eligible to be a State 4-H Ambassador based on their documented accomplishments in 4-H, leadership, public speaking, and community service activities. Once eligibility has been verified, the teens are invited to attend Ohio 4-H Youth Expo and receive initial training. Upon completion of initial training, they are officially installed as Ambassadors and are recognized. Ambassadors are then eligible to represent Ohio's 4-H youth at various county, state, and national events.
State Achievement Awards* Various sponsors Includes a trip to National 4-H Congress. Areas include: Beef, Citizenship & Community Service, Clothing & Textiles, Dairy, Dairy Goats, Environmental Sciences, Family Life & Child Development, Foods & Nutrition, Gardening & Horticulture, Health & Safety, Horse, Leadership, Mechanical & Engineering Sciences, Personal Development, Rabbits & Poultry, Sheep, Shooting Sports, Swine and Veterinary Science. Recognition provided at state awards banquet and National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, GA.
Local Government Award* Ohio Township Association Two $1,500 awards are available to any 4-H high school senior who has completed a local government-type activity with significant impact on the applicant's community, township or county.
Ohio Dairy Goat Conference* Ohio Dairy Goat Association Four delegates selected to attend the Ohio Dairy Goat Conference held in Columbus. Available to current Dairy Goat project members.

Health and Safety Speaking Award Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives Jr. & Sr. members compete at District and State public speaking events; top 4 winners receive special recognition and a possible trip to a national event.
Cunningham 4-H Leadership Award**** Cunningham 4-H
Leadership Fund
$700.00 awarded to one former 4-H member, currently attending The Ohio State University, recognizing achievements in the areas of 4-H, academics, and leadership.
(Steve R.) Rauch 4-H Collegiate Award**** Steve R. Rauch, Inc. $5,000.00 awarded over three years to one former 4-H member, currently attending The Ohio State University in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, recognizing achievements in the areas of 4-H experience, agricultural industry, and academic excellence.
John Mount Achievement Award**** John T. Mount 4-H Achievement Fund $1,000.00 awarded to one former 4-H member attending The Ohio State University, recognizing achievements in the areas of leadership, scholarship and service.
Vance Family Collegiate Scholarship**** W. Chaney & Jane S. Vance Family 4-H Fund $2,000 awarded to two, and $1,500 awarded to one, current Ohio 4-H member and current senior in high school; or a current or former Ohio 4-H member and a freshman, sophomore, or junior at OSU main campus or any regional OSU campus; who is also planning to attend or currently attending the College of Food, Agricultural and Environments Sciences or the College of Human Ecology.

4. Opportunities and Awards for Judging Teams

National 4-H Dairy Judging Contest/State Dairy Judging Team Ohio State Fair and various state sponsors Trip to national 4-H dairy judging event in Madison, Wisconsin.
National Livestock Judging Contest/State Livestock Judging Team Steve R. Rauch, Inc., Ohio State Fair, Auctioneer Kevin Wendt, Prime Time AgriMarketing Network, and Ironton Vision Center Trip to national judging contest in Louisville, Kentucky held in November.
4-H National Engineering, Science and Leadership Events Ohio-Michigan Equipment Dealers, and Power Show Ohio Sr. members compete at state engineering events including electric, computer, small engine, tractor, bicycle, compact tractor, and aerospace. Top winners in each State Fair class win an expense paid trip to the national engineering event.
National Poultry Conference/State Poultry Judging Team/Avian Bowl Team/Chicken BBQ, Turkey BBQ & Egg Demonstration Contests Ohio Poultry Association Trip to Louisville, Kentucky, to participate in 4-H poultry events.
Eastern National 4-H Horse Round-Up/State 4-H Horse Bowl Team, Judging Team, Safety Speaking Contestants and Horse Demonstration All American Youth Horse Show
Mid Ohio Walking Horse Association
State 4-H Horse Committee
Partial support to participate in 4-H horse bowl event in Louisville, Kentucky.

5. College Scholarships

All American Youth Horse Show Foundation 4-H Scholarship 1-$1,500 All American Youth Horse Show Endowment Fund Applicants must be high school seniors and current 4H horse members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post-secondary institution in any course of study
(Kathryn) Beich 4-H Scholarship 1-$500 Nestle-Beich Corporation Applicants must be current 4-H members and reside within one of the counties participating in a Nestle-Beich candy fundraising program.
(Mary E.) Border Ohio 4-H Scholarship** 2-$1,000 Mary E. Border Ohio 4-H Scholarship Fund Applicants must be high school seniors and current members planning to enroll in the fall at any accredited post secondary institution in any course of study.
(Bea) Cleveland 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 Bea Cleveland 4-H Scholarship Fund To be awarded annually to a 4-H member who is a senior in high school during the year of application. Applicants must be planning to enroll as a freshman, autumn quarter in the College of Human Ecology, at The Ohio State University, Columbus Campus or any of its regional campuses.
(Ashley Brittany) Calhoon 4-H Leadership Scholarship** 1-$600 Ashley Brittany Calhoon 4-H Leadership Scholarship Fund Applicant must be 4-H member and senior in high school planning to enroll as a freshman in fall at The Ohio State University. Preference is given to applicants from Franklin County.
(Bob) Evans Farms 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1000 Bob Evans Farms, Inc. Applicant must be 4-H member, senior in high school during the year of application, planning to enroll Autumn Quarter in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University to pursue a degree in Natural Resources.
(William E.) Goos Memorial** 4-H Scholarship 1-$1,000 Mrs. Kathy Goos Applicants must be current 4-H member, senior in high school during the year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter at The Ohio State University main campus in any academic area. Preference will be given to Butler, Preble, and Hamilton county residents. Recipient may reapply for scholarship after freshman year.
Jonard Family 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 Jonard Family Applicant must be present or former 4-H member, senior in high school and planning to enroll as a freshman in the fall at The Ohio State University in any course of study. Preference will be given to Harrison, Jefferson and Delaware County applicants.
(Chuck) Lifer 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 Charles W. and Gwyenna L. Lifer 4-H Scholarship Fund Applicant must be a high school senior who is a current or former 4-H member and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter at The Ohio State University in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences with a major in the area of agriculture or natural resources. Secondary eligibility will be given to seniors planning to attend the Agricultural Technical Institute located in Wooster, Ohio. Preference will be given to applicants from Richland, Knox and Monroe Counties.
(John L.) Ryant 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 John L. Ryant Memorial 4-H Agriculture Fund Awarded to an incoming freshman enrolled in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, preferably from Delaware County, who is a current or former 4-H member and who has demonstrated qualities of leadership.
(Mabel) Sarbaugh 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 Mabel Sarbaugh 4-H Scholarship Fund Applicant must be a 4-H member, senior in high school during the year of application, and planning to enroll Autumn Quarter in the College of Human Ecology as a freshman at The Ohio State University or any of its regional campuses.
(Mr. & Mrs. G. Deming) Seymour 4-H Scholarship** 1-$1,000 Mr. and Mrs. G. Deming Seymour Applicant must be present or former 4-H member, senior in high school, and planning to enroll as a freshman in the fall at The Ohio State University, ATI, or any of its regional campuses in any academic area. Preference will be given to Richland County applicants.
(Paul & Ethel) Smith 4-H Scholarship** 10-$2,500 Smith 4-H Endowment Fund Ten $2,500 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants must be a present or former 4-H member, senior in high school, and planning to enroll as a freshman in the fall at The Ohio State University, ATI, or any of the regional campuses, in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, including the School of Natural Resources, to pursue an education in farming or agriculture.
(Alga "Peg") Weaver 4-H Scholarship** 2-$1,200 Alga "Peg" Weaver 4-H Scholarship Fund Applicants must be 4-H members, seniors in high school during the year of application, planning to enroll in the College of Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. Recipient will be awarded $400 for three (3) consecutive quarters providing the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Host Family*****
Welcome an international visitor into your home. Youth and adults come from more than 20 countries and stay with host families for two weeks to one year. 2003 exchangees will come from Japan (approximate dates July 26-August 20) Denmark (July) and other countries around the world (September 24-December 4). Deadlines vary, February 28 to May 15.

International Study Tours*****
Travel to different countries for 17 days to study the local cultures and participate in a short-term stay with a host family.
Note: This program operates on "even" years only, and will next travel in either 2004 or 2006.

IFYE Ambassador*****
Visit a foreign country for six weeks, living with two host families.

IFYE Representative*****
Visit a foreign country for six months; live with various host families and travel independently during a three week break.

4-H Japanese Exchange*****
Delegates travel to Japan to live with a Japanese family for one month. They take part in LABO camps and are involved in a variety of activities with their host families. Optional language training is available. Note: This program operates on "odd years" only and will next travel in 2003.
