The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center is the research arm of The Ohio State University's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. OARDC works in partnership with Ohio State University Extension and with the resident instruction programs of the college.
OARDC generates new information through unbiased scientific research, research that takes our staff to farms, fields, forests, and laboratories -- sometimes even to your community. Our research team of scientists and support staff conducts research throughout the state of Ohio. They work to produce the same thing at every location -- scientific results that benefit all Ohioans.
OARDC manages some 7,200 acres of land in Wooster, Columbus, and at 12 other outlying locations. These sites allow OARDC scientists to conduct field experiments under the full range of conditions in Ohio. These locations were chosen for their distinct soil types, terrrain, climates, water supplies, marketing opportunities, and natural and human resources.
All citizens benefit from the research conducted at OARDC. Our research leads to new products, more jobs, and an improved quality of living for us all. New knowledge and new products flow from research, extension, and instruction to your farm, your garden, your business, your community, and your kitchen table.
OARDC generates information -- unbiased scientific information you can use to make decisions and improve your life, information that makes a difference, information that helps us all.
This catalog lists the many recent publica-tions that provide information on the results of research conducted at the Ohio Agricul-tural Research and Development Center. In addition to providing important information for use by other scientists and researchers, these publications also contain helpful infor-mation that benefits consumers and agricul-tural producers as well.
OARDC research publications consist of Research Bulletins, Research Circulars, and Special Circulars. (Information about other publications, especially those for visitors, can be found on page 00 of this book.)
Research Bulletins, listed with the prefix RB, are reports of completed research. Research Bulletins undergo an impartial peer review by other scientists prior to being published.
Research Circulars, listed with the prefix RC, also undergo an impartial peer review prior to publication. Research Circulars are progress reports of on-going research.
Special Circulars, listed with the prefix SC, may be reports of either on-going or com-pleted research. Although Special Circulars undergo a departmental review, they are not peer-reviewed.
