| Endophyte = A fungus that lives within the fescue plants but does not affect the appearance of the grass. A laboratory analysis is required to detect its presence because it is only transmitted by seed, thus if an endophyte free stand is established, it will remain non infected unless infected seed germinates and becomes established. | ||||||
