Walter,
You may have already received a direct reply to your request, but --
The product you refer to is Promalin by Abbott Laboratories. It contains a
combination of GA4+7and 6-benzyladenine (a cytokinin) and is labeled for
use on apples. EPA regulations are very clear and a company can not
promote or provide information for the off-label use of a product. Abbott
is a very conservative company and is not going to jeopardize their sales
of Promalin in the apple market or their image in the huge pharmaceuticals
market. We are a small market for all of these large chemical companies,
and any increase in revenue they would receive is not worth the risk to them.
Cytokinins in various forms reduce leaf yellowing in plants, which is the
reason this product works. The Michigan State work has been published in
trade magazines. Also, Bill Miller at Clemson (bmllr@clemson.edu) has done
work on leaf yellowing in lilies. For research reports, you may want to
contact them directly.

Stories in the headhouse are that Royal @ Michigan has done investigation
on the use of a cytokinen & giberlin combo trade product the reduces lower
lily leaf yellowing. Company disavows any knowledge (heh, heh). Down side
risks are significant. Are research reports available? Any light sharable
on t he subject. Bulb brokers are passing the label around freely & then
telling grower they should not use the stuff.
Cheers,
