We began shipping Pixie Pink hybrid lilies on Monday 3/16/98. We peddle some of these to florist off route trucks. I noticed that the ones that came back at the end of the day have the most mature buds bruised. We are shipping in the bud stage and most will open in 1-2 days after shipping. We are not sleeving them. It has been rather mild. This appears to be a mechanical injury but they are not crowded and it occured on 2 trucks. We plant 3 bulbs/pot so seperating the plants is not possible. Any suggestions other than sell all we put on the truck?
