Symposium

2008 PMBB Research Symposium
Clocks and Development

Friday, April 11 through Saturday April 12, 2008
OSU - Museum of Biological Diversity
1315 Kinnear Road
Columbus, OH 43210
REGISTRATION INFORMATION

The PMBB program would like to invite you to the 2008 Plant Molecular Biology/Biotechnology (PMBB) Symposium, to be held at the OSU Museum of Biological Diversity on the evening of Friday, April 11 and during the day Saturday, April 12. As in the past, there will be no registration charge and we will provide meals and refreshments until the conference ends at about 5 PM on Saturday.

This year we have Dr. C. Robertson McClung from Dartmouth College to be our Keynote Speaker on Friday evening at 6 PM, with a seminar entitled “An evolving view of the plant circadian clock”. Rob has been working on the plant circadian clock for many years, starting off in Neurospora clocks during his post-doc. He is currently the president of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB) and Associate Dean of the Faculty for the Sciences at Dartmouth.

This will be followed by a reception at 7 PM. On Saturday, we will have a morning session of 30 minute presentations in the general area of plant clocks and development. This will be followed by student/postdoc short talks and poster presentations on any topic relative to plant molecular biology and biotechnology. We’d like to invite students and postdocs to participate in the program by submitting abstracts for short talks and/or posters. There will be prizes for the best short talks and posters.

We hope that you all are able to attend as we feel that this Symposium will provide an excellent mechanism to interact with colleagues throughout the state and region.

Please note the deadline for registering is March 20, 2008 and the deadline for abstract submittal is March 26, 2008.
