EMPLOYMENT AND PROFESSIONAL HISTORY 11/03 – Present Senior Research and Extension Associate, Ohio State University Serves as program leader with responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of an aquaculture research and extension program in Ohio. Provide leadership to Ohio aquaculture applied research initiatives. Design and conduct original research. Coordinate a collaborative applied research team that focuses on the needs of the Ohio and North Central region aquaculture industry by engaging the input and involvement of Ohio aquaculturists, researchers, outside institutions, and advisory groups. Direct management of research protocols and projects, and supervision of facility staff and operations. Writes and publishes journal articles, fact sheets and bulletins on applied research results. Actively seek external funding for continuation of a statewide aquaculture research and Extension program. Assist in leading a statewide aquaculture Extension program, and related site Center activities. 2000 - 2003. Research and Extension Associate / Facility Coordinator , O.S.U. Research Assistant / Facility Coordinator, Ohio State University, South Centers at Piketon Supervision of research protocols and operational management of the aquaculture facility for OSU faculty and research staff. Coordinated the use of space and manpower at the Piketon facility by several researchers. Responsible for the maintenance and construction of aquaculture research facility. 1997 – 1998. Research Assistant, University of Florida. Conducted original research project focused on color development in juvenile goldfish. Provided technical assistance to supervising professors with their on-going research projects, including sample collections of broodstock sturgeon on the Suwannee River. 1989 – 1995. Sea Critters, Inc. Key Largo, Florida Sea Critters is the nation’s largest producer of adult Artemia (brine shrimp). Successive positions held: Aquaculture Technician, Production Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager. As General Manager, responsible for the daily operations of a business generating over $1 million in annual sales, direct management of all biological systems and production, supervision of 11 employees, customer accounts management and sales.
