The forestry program hosted a teaching conference on improving sawmills and creating value-added wood products, with guest speaker Dr. Gene Wengert. Dr. Wengert, recently retired from the University of Wisconsin, taught on common sense improvements and new technologies to aid the sawmill. Marketing ideas, operating costs, and business planning were some other topics covered by Dr. Wengert. The conference was a big success and future events with Dr. Wengert may be planned.
