  • Comparison of slow release urea, liquid urea-ammonium nitrate, and standard urea fertilizer effect on crop yields, weed pressure, nitrogen leaching and soil quality properties.  Received a $40,000 grant for collaborative research partnership between Agrium Inc., and the OSU South Centers.  2002-2006

  • Cover crops, composted chicken and dairy manures effect on crop yields, weed control and soil quality in soybean-corn rotations.  Received $8,200 from the OSU/Warner Endowment Fund for Sustainable Agriculture Interdisciplinary Grant Program for On-Farm Research.  2002-2004

  • Development of a simple test to evaluate water suitability for mixing with pesticides.  Received $750 from the Ohio Fruit Growers Society Research Funding. 2003

  • Biological-root protectant fungicided (T-22) effects on N-fertilization use efficiency, growth and yield of wheat, and soil quality.           Received $3,500 plus materials for collaborative research partnership between OSU South Centers and Advanced Biological Marketing. 2002-2004

  • Comparative effects of N from controlled release urea, standard urea, urea-ammonium nitrate (UAN), ammonium nitrate and Agrotain added UAN on corn growth and yield, and soil quality properties.          Received $5,270 (fund and materials) for collaborative research partnership between Agrium Inc., and the Ohio State University South Centers. 2002

  • Alternate Year Bearing Trial for Thorny Blackberries.                Received $750 form the Ohio Vegetable and Small Fruit Research and Development Program. 2002

  • Helped to write a SARE producer grant entitled "Agroforestry practices of ginseng and goldenseal in natural stands of hard-wood forest trees" for Jack Oxenrider.                                                      Received $5,800. 2002

Pending Research Funding:

  • Long-term effects of tillage and crop rotation on biological dynamics, carbon sequestration and quality of soil. $ 334,000. Research proposal submitted for USDA/NRI funding. 2002.

  • Phytoextraction of heavy metals with herbaceous and woody plants. $509,851. Research proposal submitted for DOE/EPA joint phytoremediation grant funding. 2003.
