The Soil Quality Test Kit is a more quantitative assessment tool that is intended for on-farm use. It is relatively simple to use and is suitable for assessing problem areas, comparing the effects of different management practices, and monitoring trends over time for eight basic soil quality indicators. The components for one kit have been purchased by the OSU Extension Sustainable Agriculture Team and eventually kits will be available in each Extension District throughout the state.
