• We hosted the Hunan Agricultural University delegation led by Party Secretary General Professor Liu Giang on Sept. 11, 2009

• Please join me in congratulating Chan Ho on winning the CC Allison award this year! The award goes to an outstanding graduate student in their final year or two of study towards the Ph.D. It is awarded to a student who shows an excellent balance of academic progress (coursework and research) and service to the department and plant pathology community.

• Congratulations on Nun's Best Poster Award at the 11th PMBB Annual Symposium on April 24-25, 2009.

• Congratulations on Gautam's OARDC SEEDS grant ($5000) for the genetic mapping of the Spl11 suppressor mutants in rice (May, 2009).

• Congratulations to Dr. Miguel Vega-Sanchez for winning the William E. Krauss Award in recognizing the impact of his SPIN1 Plant Cell paper. This award will be presented at the OARDC Annual Research Conference at The Blackwell in Columbus on April 23, 2009.

• Miguel was awarded the Plant Pathology CC Allison Award on May 26, 2008, Congratulations!

• Nun has been selected as a recipient of the H. David Thurston Student Travel Award for the 2008 APS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis on July 25-30. Congratulations to Nun on this honor!

• Gautam has been selected as a recipient of the Zahir Eyal Student Travel Award for the 2008 APS Annual Meeting in Minneapolis on July 25-30. Congratulations to Gautam on this honor!

• Migeul has been awarded a travel grant to attend the Plant Biology 2008 Meeting to be held on June 22-25,  Merida, Mexico

• Dr. Wang has successfully organized the 4th International Rice Blast Conference held on Oct. 9-14, 2007 in Changsha, Hunan, China.

• Miguel won Excellence in PMBB graduate fellowship for 2007-2008.

• Miguel won Best Graduate Student Oral Presentation at the 2007 PMBB meeting on March 30.

• Songbiao's paper is featured on USDA-NRI website as one of the cover stories in 2006 [Link]

• The biodiversity work set up by Malali at BCRT in India was awarded "Best Environmental Award" by India President Abdul Kalam on 6th June 2006. The award consists of Certificate + Trophy + Check (Rs.100,000/-).

• Lirong has been awarded a postdoc travel grant of $500.00 to attend the 2006 Plant Recetor Signaling Symposium.

• Congratulations to Miguel! He has been granted a student travel award of $500.00 to attend the APS meeting in Quebec!

• Chat won the Asia Rice Foundation USA (http://www.asiariceusa.org/About_Us.html) Travel Award ($3,500) in August 2005.

• Lirong successfully defended his dissertation on July 1, 2005.

• Chat and Miguel's proposals were funded by the OARDC Graduate Research Competition Program ($5000 each)

• Chat was awarded the Plant Pathology Department CC Allison Award on May 31, 2005

• Guo-Liang received 2005 OARDC Distinguished Junior Faculty Research Award on April 29, 2005

• Rosie' proposal titled "Characterization of Pelargonium using DNA Markers" was funded by USDA-ARS at $14,000 for one year in April 2005

• Chat won a travel grant from ASPB meeting on April 18, 2005

• Guo-Liang received his tenure promotion in April, 2004
