Day Camp Coordinator
Job
Description
I. Qualifications
- Must be 21 years
of age or older.
- Must be in good
physical condition.
- Possess quality
communication skills.
- Possess skills in camping programs i.e.
environmental, crafts, group recreation, waterfront programs, special
activities, etc.
II. Responsibilities
- Review ACA
standards for day camping programs and apply to day camp program.
- Responsible for
developing program activities, implementation, and supervision of all
activities.
- Assist in day
camp counselor training, planning and inservice in the roles and
purpose of day camping.
- Be flexible and
creative in generating programs ideas for campers during good and
inclement weather.
- Be a friend with
the campers.
- Keep the
children you are responsible for under constant supervision:
- Inform and
update administrative chain of comman of any concerns, problems, or
potential problems throughout the camping program.
- Shall be
responsible for the care, upkeep, and storage of all camp equipment.
- Responsible for
daily arrival registration and departure of campers.
- These statements
on duties are not to be taken as the final and only work to be done by
staff members. Frequently it is necessary for individual staff members
to cooperate on a project,
which is important for the continued smooth operation of the camp. Such
duties will be under the direction of the Camp Executive Director.
III. All Staff and
Directors
- Set an example
by conducting themselves in a proper manner.
- Observe a habit
of cleanliness of self and quarters.
- There shall be
no alcoholic beverages on Camp Whitewood grounds at anytime.
- Staff Certified
in C.P.R. may have to administer resuscitation by means of a mechanical
airway.
- Complete a
written evaluation
and final inventory at the end of camping season.
